make up revolution: lip swatches

So, over Christmas I purchased 6 of the Makeup Revolution liquid lip products. The product that I bought was part of their Christmas gift range and included 6 of the liquid lipsticks, in a variety of colours, from nude to dark purple! I have been trying the products and liking some more than others so I wanted to write a Blog post sharing them with you, including a lip swatch and a little comment about what I thought of them. I am going to be starting with the lightest shade and finishing with the darkest. Before I start, I just wanted to mention that these are the first make up swatches that I have done so they are not amazing, but I gave it my best shot. Let's get started!

The first lip product that you get is a nude colour. I was quite excited to try this one because I didn't previously own any really pigmented nudes, and I thought this one might be different. However, this isn't very pigmented and lasts a very short amount of time.

The second colour is a baby pink, this one is very similar to the one above and is also not very pigmented. It creates a kind of 'your lips but better look' and is perfect for a natural make up look.

This one is the most pigmented lipstick and lasts a very long time! This one is great for staying power and will not fade or leave your lips when eating and drinking, which is great for a full day at work or college. However, this one is a 'Barbie pink' colour so may be a little more difficult to wear if you prefer more muted colours.

This one is another one that is not overly pigmented, it is much more of a glossy lip product. However, I prefer the colour on the lips than the one in the bottle because it is slightly more wearable. This one would require a lip liner because it is much more likely to smudge because of it being very glossy.

This is the darker, more plum colours. I have really enjoyed wearing this shade during autumn and winter, but it is quite drying and is a little difficult to get off at the end of the day. But beside that, I think it has to be my favourite one out of all of them!

This is the final lip product. This is another addition to my red lip colours, but it is by far the most moisturising one. It's super glossy, which means that you have to make sure it doesn't smudge, but it is soo worth it!

I hope you have enjoyed these mini lip product reviews! When ordering these I also ordered a few other bits and bobs so if you would like to see another review of any other types of MR products, then let me know! I will speak to you all next Monday! Georgia X

healthy banana bread recipe

Recently I have been trying really hard to eat a lot healthier and lose a bit of weight. However, I love baking so I wanted to try and find some recipes that taste delicious but are still healthy! I found this banana bread recipe, so tried it and it tasted amazing! I have been eating it soo much, so I wanted to share the recipe with you guys!

  • 1/3 cup of melted coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup of honey or maple syrup
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 medium bananas
  • 1/4 cup of water or milk
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1 and 3/4 cups of whole wheat flour
  • optional: 1/2 cup of extra mix-ins (such as chocolate chips, raisins, dried fruit etc)

Method:
1. Preheat your oven to 165 degrees Celsius.
2. In a large bowl beat the melted coconut oil and honey. Add the eggs and beat, then whisk in the mashed banana and water.
3. Add the baking soda, vanilla extract, salt and cinnamon and whisk. Switch to the large spoon and stir in the flour. Lumps are okay! Add in your mix-ins at this point.
4. Pour the mixture into a greased loaf pan and the sprinkle it with a little ground cinnamon.
5. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean from the centre. Let it cool for 10 minutes in the tin and then for a further 20 minutes on a cooling rack before slicing.

TIP: for banana muffins use the same recipe and method, but divide the mixture into muffin cases and bake for 23 minutes at 165 degrees Celsius.

Hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do! Speak to you in my next post,

how I like to relax after a long day

Hello lovelies,

Spending over 36 hours at College a week, means that taking the time to relax and wind-down for the evening means a lot to me. I thought for today's post I would share some of the things that I enjoy doing on an evening after I get home from College. So these things are what I do after I have showered, eaten dinner, etc. Let's get started!

The first thing I like to do, and this is something that I do every night is get into bed and watch something on Netflix. Usually this is an episode of the TV programme that I am watching (currently Brooklyn Nine-Nine). It varies how long I spend watching Netflix, sometimes it could be a few hours hours, sometimes it could only be 20 minutes. I don't like to spend too long watching TV though because I prefer to do something that will help me feel more tired (not something that will make me want to stay up until 2am!)

Another thing I like to do is read a book or a magazine. I used to only read books, but during these past couple of months I have been reaching for my Glamour magazines more. I think it's because they are so easy to just put down and then pick up again the next day. I like the variety of content that Glamour offer so I would definitely recommend that one! I like reading to wind-down because it's relaxing and never fails to make me sleepy.

I recently purchased a new Nintendo DS because I started to play my old one that I used as a child and remembered how fun they are! I find myself playing this quite a lot at the moment, sometimes alone and sometimes whilst I'm watching TV too. My favourite games to play are Animal Crossing and Cooking Mama.

These are really the only things that I like to do on my evenings after College, before going to sleep. Let me know what you like to do to relax and wind-down after School, College or Work and I'll speak to you next week!
